Central module (CM): located at the central position in networking, and connected with peripheral switching modules (simplified as PSM ) and remote switching modules (simplified as RSM).

Central Module(CM)

There are three types of ZXJ10 CMs:

  • Small capacity: SM8; SM16

  • Medium capacity: CM32; CM64

  • Large capacity: CM128; CM256.

Central Module SM8

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Switching network capacity: Single T 8K8K

  • Application: SM8 can be used as the central module or a switching module. When it is used as the CM, it can compose an exchange with a capacity of 50,000 lines. Generally, it is used as an end office with a primary capacity of less than 20,000 lines.

Central Module SM16

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Switching network capacity: Single T 16K*16K

  • Application: SM16 can be used as the central module or a switching module. When it is used as the CM, it can compose an exchange with a capacity of 100,000 lines or 14,000 trunks. Generally, it is used as an end office with a primary capacity of less than 50,000 lines.

Central Module CM32

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Switching network capacity: Single T 32K*32K

  • Application: CM32 can only be used as the central module, composing an exchange with a capacity of 300,000 lines or 30,000 trunks. Generally, it is used for tandem exchanges, gateway exchanges, toll exchanges or C3 local exchanges.

Central Module CM64

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Switching network capacity: Single T 64K*64K (Patented technology).

  • Application: CM64 can only be used as the central module, composing an exchange with a capacity of 600,000 lines or 60,000 trunks. Generally, it is used for large-capacity tandem exchanges, gateway exchanges, toll exchanges, C3 local exchanges or higher end local exchanges.

Central Module CM128

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Switching network capacity: 128K for multiple planes

  • Application: CM128 can only be used as the central module, composing an exchange with a capacity of 800,000 lines or 120,000 trunks. It is used for super-large tandem exchanges or gateway exchanges.

Central Module CM256

  • Dimensions: 2000mm*870mm*600mm (H)

  • Weight: 250kg (a single rack with full configuration)

  • DC voltage: -48VDC (-40VDC~-57VDC)

  • Working temperature and relative humidity: The same as those of SM8

  • Switching network capacity: Single T 256K *256K

  • Application: CM256 can only be used as the central module, composing an exchange with a capacity of 1,000,000 lines or 250,000 trunks. It is used for super-large tandem exchanges or gateway exchanges.

Centrex Service

Overview

The ZXJ10 Switch provides Centrex services, namely, the centralized subscriber switch services. By using the existing local network resource, the ZXJ10 can have the functions of PABX so that subscribers can enjoy tailored Centrex services as well as all available services to PSTN subscribers.

The Centrex functionality, which is similar to that of PABX, is provided merely through appropriate logic definition to a group of office switch users and requires no dedicated PABX switching hardware.

By launching Centrex services into the switch market, operators can not only gain more business revenue, but also facilitate the popularization of new services and the market expansion through localization of PABX subscribers.

In virtue of the CENTREX function of ZXJ10, group users can construct their private PABX by leasing a certain number of PSTN/ISDN subscriber lines from operators, eliminating the needs for dedicated PABX switching equipment, maintenance and management personnel, and special PABX equipment room. Therefore, start up cost is cut down. It is much attractive for small-sized or decentralized group users.

Functions of Centrex

As introduced above, Centrex service is provided to a certain group of users, called Centrex group or business group. Similar to the numbering plan often used in PABX, an appropriative numbering plan is adopted for the subscribers for a business group. And the intra-dialing shall be much cheaper or even free.

One business group consists of some PSTN/ISDN subscriber logical locations. Members of the business group are called extensions of the group and each one has one extension number, only used  within the Group, and one PSTN number. An Extension may be set to be Traffic console of the business group or vice versa. And one or more pilot numbers can be configured for one business group. If a switch office is comprised of multiple modules, the Extensions can be distributed in different modules.

Services of Centrex Subscribers

  • Centrex subscribers have all services of ordinary subscribers, such as local call, toll call switch function.

  • Centrex subscribers have all PABX functions.

  • One switch can support 65,536 Centrex groups, in each group the subscriber number is unlimited, could be the total capacity of that switch. The group members could be analog subscriber, ISDN subscriber, V5 analog subscriber and ISDN subscriber.

  • Centrex traffic console, which has the same functions of ordinary traffic console.

  • Intra-group call with special billing mode.

  • Group member prefix + local number to dial local subscribers in DOD2 mode.

  • Outgoing call filtering, authenticate according to subscriber´s Centrex group number so as to decide whether he/she has the right to call out.

  • Closed user group. Some subscribers in the Centrex group form a closed group. Members in this closed group can call each other, but can not call subscribers outside of the group, and outside subscribers can not call in.

  • Call pick-up (co-group pick-up or designated call pick-up)

  • Traffic console application. While one Centrex subscriber wants to be the attendant of this Centrex, dials specified number.

  • Traffic console cancellation. While the attendant wants to revert to ordinary Centrex subscriber, dials specified number.

  • Call transferring

  • Call forwarding (same as basic service)

  • Outgoing call barring

  • Secretary Service

  • Attendant emergency overriding

  • Forwarding calls from outside of the group, no forwarding for calls intra-group

  • Call center

  • Virtual Centrex group

  • Inquire un-answered numbers

  • Attendant service

Wide Area Centrex

The users in the same Centrex group can be distributed in different modules, PSM or RSM, and even in different exchanges. This is equivalent to constructing a private network that is more significant than PABX. Such a network is called wide area Centrex.
